Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)

During periods of extreme weather—such as high winds or when vegetation is especially dry—SDG&E may proactively shut off power as a last resort to reduce the risk of utility-related wildfires and help protect homes and communities. Depending on weather conditions, customers may receive notifications approximately 48, 24, 12, and 1–4 hours before a planned power shutoff.
